The Alpha & Omega Bible (AOB)

I just received an update on this Bible from Pastor Tim of I Saw The Light Ministries, he writes:

"We now have a new improved update that was just released Feb. 16. I would greatly appreciate it if you would please consider posting about this update

Many things make the AOB very unique, including:
  • The name "Jesus" is used for the name of GOD in much of the Old Testament, instead of "The LORD"
  • The words of GOD are in red or bold in Genesis, Exodus and a few other books and verses in the Old Testament,
  • This study bible has some very interesting notes. Some of these notes proclaim prophecies of the president of Syria, Bashar Assad, being the end time Son of Perdition (Antichrist). It also says that Assad is a fallen angel who will manifest himself in the sky in a fake coming of Jesus on the date of Purim of some year. Then exactly 30 days later, invade Israel. Whether anyone agrees or disagrees with these prophecies, these are significant statements that are worthy of notice.
  • A full PDF file copy is available for free online for inspection before purchasing the paperbacks from Amazon."

Father's New Testament

This is called the Father's New Testament.  It is the work of Michael Rajnarine Sawh.  From the Smashwords page:

The Father's New Testament is a precise translation of the Holy Scriptures from ancient Greek. It is a revision of the 1560 Geneva Bible, using the Textus Receptus, to preserve its integrity and improve readability, employing the 1611 King James as the benchmark of a diligent work.

There are free downloads of PDF, epub and Kindle formats.  Thanks to Joshua Holman for this one!

Refreshed American Standard Version

I just ran across this one while looking for something else.  This is the Refreshed American Standard Version. The New Testament and Psalms are finished.  You can download those and the currently finished portions of the Old Testament at their website.

It is available on Amazon as well.  From Amazon:

For decades, scholars have referred to the American Standard Version as the "Rock of Biblical Honesty," and have held convictions that "interest in it should be renewed and increased, with the chief inducement being its recognized value which deserves and demands perpetuation."

Like our ASV predecessors, the RASV is resolutely committed to the Formal Equivalence translation philosophy, and has endeavored to handle the English text with both deference and reserve, intending this standard ought merely to be refreshed, rather than revised, or replaced.

Changes made to the ASV within the limited scope of the refreshing of the English text include archaic personal pronouns (i.e. thee, thou, thine, thy, thyself, ye), archaic verb terminations (i.e. -est, -st, -th), and antiquated vocabulary, spelling, and grammar resulting from semantic shift.
