The Message - Catholic Edition

There is a post over at Catholic Bibles about an upcoming Catholic Edition of Eugene's Peterson's paraphrase of the Bible called "The Message." There is an interview with the President of Acta Publications, the publisher. You can pre-order the Bible at Amazon.com.

Holy Sun Bible

There isn't any description I can find for this Bible. It is called the Holy Sun Bible. It appears to be the King James Version with God's name replaced with "Sun." It is available as a PDF on Scribd.
In the beginning Sun created the heaven and the earth.

Logos King James Version

The Logos King James Version is by Peter Tan. So far, only the book of Genesis is online. The copyright is 2007 for that PDF. According to his website:
This version of the Holy Bible is translated from the Hebrew Old Testament and the Greek New Testament (Textus Receptus) with retention of the flavour of the English version of the 1611 King James Bible as its English base. It is a labor of ten years of comparative Bible study, prayer and word by word translation. There will be a release of this Bible book by book.

Second Person Plural Version Explosion!

If you are very literal about what makes a new Bible version, then get ready for a whole pile of new ones!
Many of you are aware that the second person plural in English looks the same as the second person singular. That is, "you" can mean one person or many people. One web director (at Dallas Theological Seminary) has created a web application that helps show the proper distinction between the singular and plural. You get to choose how that distinction is written. Do you prefer southern U. S.? Then choose "You and Y'all." Or perhaps the Eastern U. S. is your preference with "You/Youse guys?" Visit John Dyer's website to see his work in action. Click on the gear in the upper right corner of the page. Scroll down to "English Second Person Plural." Choose your region such as southern U. S., Pittsburgh, United Kingdom or even old English. Now read the King James Version, the New American Standard Version, the New English Translation, the World English Bible or the Open English Bible with this new difference. For instance, here is 1 Corinthians 3:16 (NASB, United Kingdom): "Do you lot not know that you lot are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you lot?" There is also a Google Chrome plugin that applies this difference to other Bible reading sites like youversion.com and others. Technically, each Bible changed in this way is a new version...

Proclaim His Holy Name Bible

I received notice from Richard Estes (thanks, Richard!) that this Bible is now finished. I mentioned it last September. It is in four volumes though it will eventually (expected 7/2/2013) be published in a one volume format. The four volumes (on Amazon) are: Volume 1, Genesis-II Samuel, Volume 2, I Kings-Song of Solomon, Volume 3, Isaiah-Malachi and Volume 4, the New Testament. This version has both God the Father and the Son's words in red. This is produced by Proclaim His Holy Name Ministries.
