Common English Bible

The New Testament of the Common English Bible is available at Christian Books Distributor, Amazon.com and probably many others. I signed up when they had the free copy offer on the website but haven't seen anything of it yet. Anyone get their free copy yet?

  1. The free Common English Bible New Testaments will be shipping next week, per the publisher. There a good twitter page for these kinds of updates - and verses, too: http://twitter.com/commonengbible

  3. I received my copy already but in this first edition (and also the early look-up on their website) Gal. 2:20 is missing the phrase "I've been crucified with Christ". I inquired and was sent an email affirming that a transalator had noticed it as it was going to press but would be corrected in the 2nd edition.

  4. Thanks for this note. This will be the first time I've had a difference chart for a second edition before it came out!

  5. I just wanted to clarify. The dropped phrase will be restored in the second printing, not in a future revised second edition. It was simply a printsetting mistake.

  6. I've had a copy of the NT for several weeks now, but can't really make up my mind on this.

The base vocabulary is straightforward, it reminds me of the NCV in that sense. But sometimes the reading is choppy when I'm reading it out loud to my boys.

To be really honest, I'm waiting to see what others have to say about it; because I'm not sure if it's me or if it's the text.
